MFDB's website is designed to offer comprehensive and detailed information about mountain films and also for it to be a meeting point for the public and production and exhibition media to connect and communicate with one another and exchange information.
Mountain Film Institute is a private organization that was created to promote mountain film culture and preserve the history and legacy of mountain film productions that talk about topics related directly with climbing and mountaineering. These film productions show us an evolution line both for cinematography and for mountaineering.
Mountain Film Institute works hard to maintain and improve its cinematographic archive. This archive is meant to store digitized copies of as many possible catalogued films to ensure preservation and obtain information for their study and dissemination. The archive collection keeps growing constantly with new titles that are included as a result of MFI's research work and also thanks to contributions from collaborators from all over the world.
Our collaborators' contributions are essential for Mountain Film Institute and Mountain Film Database to work, as they really help to develop our project. We enormously value our collaborators' altruistic action and we encourage whomever wishes to participate in our project to do any kind of contribution you consider interesting.
We are interested in users' opinion about the Mountain Film Database site and are open to any critique and suggestions that might help us improve our project. We encourage anyone with a doubt or suggestion to contact us via the Contact form or Suggestion form to let us know about your ideas, propositions or concerns. We'll address all received messages with great interest.
