My lists

FAVOURITE FILMS, WHATCHLIST, FAVOURITE CHANNELS


1. How can I add a film to my Favourite films list? To add or delete a film from my Favourite films list you have to access the film's page and click on the Favourites button at the top under the film's title. This is a reversible button to add or delete a film from the list depending on if it's already added or not.


2. How can I add or delete a film from my watchlist? To add or delete a film from my Watchlist you have to access the film's page and click on the Watchlist button at the top under the film's title. This is a reversible button to add or delete a film from the list depending on if it's already added or not.


3. How can I add or delete a channel from my Favourite channels list? To add or delete a channel from your Favourite channels list you need to access the channel and click on the Favourites button at the top under the channel description.  This is a reversible button to add or delete a channel from the list depending on if it's already added or not.


4. What's the difference between the Favourite films list and the Film watchlist? Each user's favourite films list is a public list that other users can see and that's part of the visible user profile. It can be accessed from your profile window and from your channel. The whatchlist is a private listing that can only be seen by you. Therefore whilst the Favourites list is a showcase for others, the other list is more a personal listing for users to store films for any other purpose.


5. Which films or channels in my lists are shown in carousel and which in list mode? My MFDB Film and channel lists' pages work like other list pages in MFDB. Each page shows 10 results simultaneously in carousel and list mode. These two view modes show the exact same results and to see the next group of results you need to skip to the next page using the page navigator.


6. Can other users see my lists? Other users can only see our favourite films list and the film list with reviewed films. The rest of lists are private and can only be accessed by you.

7. How can I review a film? To make a film review you must go to its film page and open the User Reviews tab (see User reviews).


8. How can I modify a film review I have done? To edit film reviews you have to access the Film reviews list in your My MFDB menu and click on the right column of the film. A floating window will come up with our review and a text box field for you to write your new review. Once the new review is sent it will replace the previous one.


9. How can I delete a film review I made? Currently you cannot. If you need to delete a film review we recommend you edit it by leaving it blanc and that you send a petition to MFDB administration via the Contact form so it's deleted completely.


10. Can other users see my film reviews? Yes, film reviews are public information of your MFDB activity. Users can see other user's film reviews page or by accessing the film reviews via the the user's channel profile window.


11. How can I modify a film I added? To modify a film that has been added via the Add films form you have to access the Added films list and click the proper link (depending on chosen language) on the right column. You can only modify films in quarantine. Films that have been approved go into the general database can only be edited by MFDB administration. To add or modify any kind of data on an added film that has overcome quarantine you have to do so through the Add data feature at the bottom of each film's page (see add data).


12. How can I delete a film I added? Currently you cannot. If you need to delete an added film we recommend you send a petition to MFDB administration via the Contact form.


13. How do channels work? First step to open a channel is to fill out the data in the channel's profile form. Once the channel is open you can start creating and uploading posts from the channel's management page.


14. I have registered myself as a professional user but can't open a professional channel. Why? Only professional users are authorised to open a professional channel. To hold a professional user account you need to register as a professional user and wait for MFDB administration to validate your professional account. While the professional account is not validated it will continue to be a personal one. This process may take some days. Therefore it's possible your professional account hasn't been enabled yet.

15. How do I know  if I am registered as a personal or a professional user? You have to access Update account in your My MFDB. Depending on if we are registered as personal or professional users a Personal user form or a Professional user form will come up. If you were registered as a personal user and wish to have a professional account you may send a petition via the Contact form.


16. Can I change my user name? Yes, but we recommend caution when doing so taking into account that if you have any public activity in MFDB this name change can confuse users following your activity.
